Stavros-Alexandros Ikbal
Stavros-Alexandros Ikbal is an excellent graduate of the National School of Dance in Greece (KSOT).
From 2014 – 2018 he participated in the shows of KSOT ‘Open Studio – Black Box’ and his last collaboration was for the show “Growing!” at the Athens and Epidaurus Festival dancing for Markella Manoliadi, Christos Papadopoulos and Andonis Foniadakis. At the same time he attended numerous workshops in Greece and abroad.
In 2018 he worked with Arthrosis dance company under the artistic direction of Penny Diamantopoulou for the piece “En Route” which was presented in Zakynthos and Thessaloniki.
As an assistant choreographer, he traveled to the USA in 2019 with the choreographer Christian Denice for the creation of the piece “SEE ME” at Eisenhower Dance Detroit.
In February of 2023 he was the choreographer of the Opening Ceremony of the European Capital of Culture choreographing 120 members of CHÓRES while he has also choreographed the Opening Act of the Rolex Arts Festival on the main stage of Stavros Niarchos Foundation.
He gives Release Technique and Graham technique classes in Greece and abroad.
From 2023 he is also assistant to the choreographer Blenard Azizaj and they have worked together in Greece with the senior year students of the National School of Dance and the Opera of Albania.
From 2019 to 2021 he lived and danced in Geneva with Ballet Junior de Genève performing repertoires by Hofesh Shechter, Roy Assaf, Barak Marshall, Emanuel Gat, Jan Martens, Olivier Dubois, Sharon Eyal etc. in theaters and festivals in Switzerland and France.
During this period he also collaborated with the choreographers Cathy Marston for the creation of the piece “Moving, Still” and Marcos Morau for “Waltz”.
He is a dancer of the choreographer Lida Doumouliaka and he was a cast member of her last production “Rite of Spring – Kinetic Orchestra” which had its world premiere in Zurich in 2022.
In 2023, as a member of OKTANA Dance Theater under the direction of Konstantinos Rigos, he participated in the performance TAKIS – CONVERSATIONS that took place at TAKIS Foundation.
Returning to Greece in 2021, he began his collaboration with the female choral ensemble CHÓRES under the artistic direction of Marina Satti, choreographing various productions in Greece and abroad and teaching kinesiology.
He has taught at the professional department of the National School of Dance and at the higher professional dance school “Choros” of Maro Grigoriou.
In July 2023 he taught at the International Summer School of the University of Aegean, in collaboration with Eirini Patsea, at the program: “Redefining Practices: Organ and Vocal Music in Educational Environments” on how to approach movement in vocal ensembles.
He is currently attending the “Training of Adult Trainers: Integrated Training and Practice Program with Microteachings” at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
